Weekly Prayer Needs
Praises
• Praise God for the assurance of hope in Jesus our High Priest who ever lives to make intercession for those who draw near to God (Hebrews 6-7).
• Praise God for granting New Covenant Church an extended two months to remain in their current location. Pray that the Lord may provide a permanent center of worship for His ministry in Naperville.
• Praise the Lord for His provision of volunteers for the Kids’ Harbor Fall Ministries. Continue to pray that our God may raise up additional helpers to fill the remaining staff needs.
• Praise God for the proclamation of His gospel through the STAMP and World Impact Teams. Pray that the churches involved on these trips would be strengthened in their commitment to Christ and that many who heard the Good News would receive it as the Word of God (1 Thessalonians 1:13).
• Praise God for opening up a door of ministry for James and Karen Seward at the First Baptist Church in Lindale, Texas. Pray that God would grant James wisdom in his role as associate pastor of education and that God would mercifully lead the Sewards in this time of transition.
• Praise God for His leading of Todd and Katie Wilson to the pastorate of Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park. Pray that God’s peace may be on the Wilson family during this move and that Todd would faithfully proclaim Christ in all wisdom at Calvary Memorial (Colossians 1:28).
• Praise God for the exceptionally full attendance of Sunday morning worship. Pray that God would lead many of those who visited to find a community in College Church to worship and serve with us.
Pray for our Community
• Pray that God may instruct His people at College Church through our numerous fall Bible studies. Pray that God would make His will known and that we would deepen in our faith as we eagerly examine the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).
• Pray that God would equip and enable our children to be a bold witness for Jesus in their schools and neighborhoods. Pray that they would set apart Christ as Lord in their hearts and always be ready to give a defense for the reason for their hope (1 Peter 3:15).
• Pray that God may lead many to volunteer for the STARS Disability Ministries. Pray that the children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families would be ministered to in Word and deed.
• Pray that the Lord may raise up a core group of leaders and volunteers to participate in College Church’s outreach to international students in the Chicago area. Pray that we would seize this strategic opportunity to minister and witness to the many national leaders who have come to Chicago for further education.
• Pray for the coming year of College Church ministries that our pillar value of God’s Word would be central. Pray that God might give us understanding to keep and observe His instruction with our whole heart (Psalm 119:34).
• Pray that the Lord may grant wisdom and unity to our pastoral staff as they prepare for this next season of ministry. Pray that God would continue to give them a growing vision and sacrificial heart to accomplish His work in our church and community.
