Men's Ministry

Men's Gathering

Who:  All men.  College Church men, College students, High School students (we'd suggest 16+), men in the community, men in your small group, men who are not in your small group, men who are your neighbors. If you are a man--you are invited.

Why:  Why should you come? As men, we go and go and go. Many of us run alone most of the time. Yes, we have some friends, maybe a wife and kids, but really--we pretty much run alone. Men's Ministry can be an oasis for you. A place to be encouraged, listen to God, hit the reset switch and connect with other men where you can be real and honest.

What: An opportunity to hear from God's Word over a continental breakfast in Commons Hall from 6:00-7:15 a.m. every other week. Jesse Meekins is an amazing Bible teacher and we will talk about topics like Manhood, Purity, Rest, Truth, Direction and more.

Here are upcoming dates for Men's Gathering:

  • 4/21            Men's Gathering
  • 5/5              Men's Gathering and Breakfast

Format:  So how does the morning format work? A continental breakfast will be ready to eat anytime after 5:55 AM. Come on in and grab a bagel and coffee or juice. We will sit at round tables, so find a spot and make yourself comfortable. Around 6:05, we will formally welcome everyone and make a few announements. Then Jesse will teach us a bit from the Gospel of John. After the teaching time, we will spend some time around the tables for discussion and prayer.

End:  Yes, we know you want to know when it will end. We will end promptly at 7:15. We will not run long-- we promise. For those of you who need to leave early for the train or commute, there will be other men slipping out at 7:00, and we completely understand if you need to make your way out early.

Questions:  Do you have other thoughts, questions or ideas?  Email and you will hear back quickly.

Men's Service Day

This will take place on April 22.

Meet us at 8:00 a.m. in Commons Lobby. Bring your paint brushes, gloves and yard tools.

We will be working on three project sites to help with painting, minor home repairs, cleaning and yard work. Projects are scheduled to be completed by 12:00 p.m.

Men's Breakfast

Join us on Friday, May 5 from 6:00 - 7:15 a.m. for our final Gathering of the year. There will be FREE BREAKFAST, teaching, and prayer with other men. We'd love to see you there.

Purity for Men

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”  (Phil 4:8)

Sexuality is created by God to be a good and beautiful thing. God desires to have a pure and wonderful relationship with us. We sometimes struggle with being pulled towards the things of this world rather than towards the God who created it.

It is our desire that men pursue Christ in all aspects of their life. If you, or someone you know is struggling with sexual purity, we trust you will find these resources helpful.

We would love to speak with you, meet with you, pray for and encourage you. Would you please reach out to us so we can come alongside you? You do not need to walk this journey alone. Send a confidential email to  Or text Chris T at 630.327.6733.

A fellowship of men who remind one another of the Bible's teaching on sexuality, are available for one another as a supportive team of brothers, hold each other accountable and provide a safe, confidential place to share.

The group is open only to those who want to meet for the purpose of encouraging sexual purity. For information and meeting days/times, send an email to, or call Jim Elwell, 630.841.9513.

1:2:1 Bible Reading

It is time to take the personal study of the Bible and put into the context of a relationship with another man. Be encouraged and equipped by reading the Bible One to One (1:2:1) with another man for at least seven to eight weeks. In that time you can mentor and be mentored.

For more information on how to get started, or if you are not sure who you can study 1:2:1 with, contact Chris Tews. Study resources are available.
