Monthly Gathering is a space where the women of College Church can connect with one another, discuss relevant topics, learn from God’s Word and grow with one another. We hope you’ll join us!

We’ll spend the morning reflecting on the year and what we’ve learned about loving one another. Whether you’ve joined us every month or this would be your first time, we hope to see you there!

These mornings are open to women of all ages and in all stages of life. They usually include a short teaching as well as time around tables with discussion questions. We hope to create a space where women can get to know each other and have meaningful and relevant conversations.

“Just as I have loved you, you are to love one another.” John 13:34-35
At Monthly Gathering this year we’ll look carefully at this scriptural command to love one another and consider how we can grow in love and deepen our relationships–within the family of God and beyond.
We believe as Christians we are called to move toward one another because God moves toward us–as revealed throughout the story of the Bible and most notably through the coming of his son Jesus Christ. We get a glimpse of what this can look like through the beautiful example of the community of the early church, as recorded in Acts 2:42-47. As we look at these key texts, we’ll consider together questions such as:
- How do I cultivate meaningful relationships within the family of God?
- How do I care for friends in the midst of hardship?
- What does persevering love look like in my relationships?
- What is the role of the Spirit in bearing one another’s burdens?
We’ll examine scripture and use Ed Welch’s books Caring for One Another and Side by Side to guide our round table discussions.
We hope you will join us this year as we explore God’s Word and seek to engage with one another on this important topic.
