Sports ministry is another avenue for us to reach out with the life-changing gospel of Jesus. Using the God-given desire of athletics to create meaningful relationships that result in transformed lives.
Announcement
Formerly Upward Basketball, FCA Basketball is sponsored by College Church in Wheaton and is an annual tradition for boys and girls in grades 1–4.
No tryouts are required. Our league helps young players build skills and confidence, learn to compete, and enjoy the game. The emphasis is on development rather than win-loss records—a great foundation before considering travel or club basketball.
- Season: The week of January 11 through March 20, 2027. Each team will play at least seven regular-season games.
- Practices: Depending on team assignment, practices take place at one of these locations:
- Tuesday evenings: Wheaton Academy, 900 Prince Crossing Rd., West Chicago
- Thursday evenings: College Church, 332 E. Seminary Ave., Wheaton
- Games: All games are played at Wheaton Academy on Saturdays between 8 and 11AM or on Tuesdays between 6 and 8PM, in place of practice.
- Holiday break: No games will be scheduled on Saturday, February 13, during Presidents’ Day weekend.
- League fees support facility use, referees, practice and game support, and equipment. Fees also include a numbered, reversible home-and-away uniform. Cost is $125 per player.
Each team is organized around two parent coaches and their children. The league assigns the remaining players based on practice location and basketball experience.
Coaches will lead their teams in discussions about the Christian faith. All coaches must agree to the FCA Statement of Faith and attend a scheduled coaches’ training session before the season.
Trained student referees will officiate all games.
