College Church will hold the Annual Meeting this year on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All members are expected to attend. If you cannot attend, you can vote using the absentee ballot available Sunday mornings at the ushers table.

Informational meetings will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 16, at 9:00 a.m. in room 211 on the second floor of the Sanctuary building.

Agenda

The agenda will include:

  • Receiving the 2026 Annual Report which includes reports from all our ministry leaders (copies of the Annual Report will be available at church, beginning Sunday, May 10);
  • Voting for the approval of minutes to the May 18, 2025 Annual Meeting;
  • Electing board and committee members and other elected positions;
  • Voting for the members to serve on the 2026-2027 Nominating Committee;
  • Voting to approve Mathieson, Moyski & Austin as the independent audit firm for fiscal year 2026-2027.

EXCEPTIONAL MATTERS:

  1. Voting to approve the Church Budget for 2026-2027.
  2. Voting to call Brandon Chism to serve as Pastor of Worship and Music, effective June 15, 2026.
  3. Voting to call Jim Johanik to serve as Executive Pastor, effective June 1, 2026.
  4. Amending the Bylaws to remove the elected position of Librarian.
Resolutions

RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE 2026-2027 BUDGET:

WHEREAS, the Board of Deacons has approved and submitted to the Council of Elders the 2026-2027 Church Budget;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2026-2027 Church Budget approved by the Council of Elders and recommended to the Regular Members be approved.

 

RESOLUTION TO CALL BRANDON CHISM AS PASTOR OF WORSHIP & MUSIC:

WHEREAS, the Bylaws of College Church state that the Senior Pastor shall recommend to the Council for its approval those of his choice to serve as members of the Pastoral Staff. Persons recommended for such positions, together with their proposed titles, duties, and responsibilities, shall be presented by the Council to the Regular Members for approval if they are to be employed for, or if their employment is to be increased to, more than 20 hours per week and if their employment is expected to last more than two years.

WHEREAS, Pastor Moody has recommended to the Council and the Council has approved and is recommending to the Regular Members that BRANDON CHISM be called as Pastor of Worship & Music;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that BRANDON CHISM be called as Pastor of Worship & Music, effective June 1, 2026.

 

RESOLUTION TO CALL JIM JOHANIK AS EXECUTIVE PASTOR

WHEREAS, the Bylaws of College Church state that the Senior Pastor shall recommend to the Council for its approval those of his choice to serve as members of the Pastoral Staff. Persons recommended for such positions, together with their proposed titles, duties, and responsibilities, shall be presented by the Council to the Regular Members for approval if they are to be employed for, or if their employment is to be increased to, more than 20 hours per week and if their employment is expected to last more than two years.

WHEREAS, Pastor Moody has recommended to the Council and the Council has approved and is recommending to the Regular Members that JIM JOHANIK be called as Executive Pastor;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Jim Johanik be called as Executive Pastor, effective June 1, 2026.

 

RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE COLLEGE CHURCH BYLAWS

WHEREAS, the College Church Bylaws allow for amendments at the initiation of the Council of Elders;

WHEREAS, Article X, Section 10 of the College Church Bylaws includes the election of a Regular Member to serve as Librarian. “The Librarian shall be responsible for the organization, administration, and supervision of the Church library. The Librarian shall report to a member of the Pastoral Staff as determined by the Senior Pastor, subject to approval by the Council”; and

WHEREAS, the Church Library has experienced decreased activity over the past several years to the point where only one or two families have utilized its services, and as a result the Church Library has been closed;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Council of Elders recommends to the Regular Members that ARTICLE X, Section 10 OTHER ELECTED POSITIONS “Librarian” of the College Church Bylaws be removed effective upon approval as an Exceptional Matter at the May 17, 2026 Annual Meeting, and the remaining elected positions be renumbered accordingly.
