Steps for Screening and Certification
- Submit a Protect My Ministry application or PMM (completed annually)
- For a new worker, a background check is automatically run and references are required
- Interview with Director, Ministry Associate, or elected leader
- Complete IL DCFS Mandated Reporter training (valid 3 years)
- Complete MinistrySafe Trainings (valid 3 years)
- If approved, you will be notified.

- Large group teacher, small group classroom leader, or craft and activity leader
- During the school year or summer
- Sundays or Wednesdays, mornings or evenings

STARS Disability Ministry
Good Friends
Many of the opportunities to get involved with STARS require one simple skill: being a friend!
- Friendship support in Sunday Bible Classes
- Buddies during STARS events
- Helpers in STARS music camps or special programs

Middle School Ministry
Point middle school students to Christ by serving as an adult leader for KMs Wednesday or Foundations:
KMs Wednesday – Join the large group for games, worship, and teaching. Partner with 1 or 2 other adult leaders to lead a small group of students. Wednesdays, 6:45-8:15PM
Foundations – Be a table discussion leader as students learn the basics of the Christian faith through a combination of large-group teaching and table discussion. Sundays, 9:30AM.
High School Ministry
Ways to Get Involved
- Get connected with a HYACKs small group as an adult leader or host
- Engage in discipling relationships with students
- Participate in Sunday or Wednesday gatherings
