Sunday Services

Each Sunday morning during the school year (late August – late May), we gather for worship at 8, 9:30, and 11AM. During the summer (early June – mid-August), we gather at 9:30 and 11AM.

In addition to the Sunday morning, we gather as a church each Sunday evening at 5PM in the Crossings building.

For members and regular attenders unable to attend church on any given week, we livestream our 9:30AM service at https://college-church.org/livestream/.

Parking

As a church, we are deeply thankful for being located in downtown Wheaton. This does mean that we have limited parking on our campus.

  • Visitors, Accessible, and Limited Mobility Parking is located on the north end of the Commons parking lot.
  • Additional campus parking is located in the south end of the Commons lot, the Crossings parking lot, and immediately north of the Sanctuary building.
  • Off-campus parking is located in the Wheaton Public Library parking lot directly west of the Commons building, the Billy Graham Hall parking lot, the Blanchard Hall parking lot, and on-street parking on Seminary Avenue, Scott Street, Wesley Street, and Washington Street.
  • A drop-off and pick-up area is located in front of the Sanctuary building on Seminary Avenue.
  • The maps below highlight these various areas.
Frequently Asked Questions

Sunday Mornings

On a Sunday morning, people come to College Church for worship in clothing ranging from casual to professional. Everything from jeans to suits is appropriate.

The Information Center, located just inside the entrance to the Sanctuary building (or outside during the summer months, weather-dependent) is where you can go with any questions you might have. Any volunteer with an orange lanyard will be able to help you.

During the school year (late August – late May), we have three services (8, 9:30, and 11AM). All three services have the same elements. During the summer months (early June – mid-August), we have two identical services (9:30 and 11AM).

At College Church, we believe wholeheartedly in the expositional preaching of God’s Word, meaning that each Sunday morning we work through a Bible passage, its meaning in the context in which it was written, and the application it has for our lives today.

Communion & Baptism

As a church, we celebrate communion together on the first Sunday of every month. Communion is available to all attendees who profess faith in Jesus Christ and are in fellowship with a Bible-believing church.

One of the distinctive features of College Church is that we hold to the statement, “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.” One of the specific ways that this is lived out in the life of our church is that infant baptism and believer baptism are both practiced. Learn more about our approach or pursue baptism for yourself or a family member.

Children & Students

For first time visitors, check-in for children’s ministry (also known at College Church as Kids’ Harbor) takes place at the Harbor Hub, which is on the lower level of the Sanctuary building.

To get to the Harbor Hub, go through the Sanctuary building main entrance, down the stairs, and head to the left. The Harbor Hub is in the middle of the Kids’ Harbor classroom area, and you can know you are heading in the right direction if you see a fish tank on the left-hand side as you enter the space!

Returning children to Kids’ Harbor can check-in either at the kiosks in the lower level of the Sanctuary building or at the Kids’ Harbor check-in desk located just inside the main Sanctuary building entrance doors.

During the school year (late August – late May), there are no children’s ministry classes during the 8AM service. At the 9:30AM service, all children’s ministry classes are open. During the 11AM service, there are classes available during the entire service for infants through early preschool. Children who are in older preschool through third grade will sit with their parents for the first part of the 11AM service before being dismissed to their classes for the remainder of the service.

During the summer (early June – mid-August), all children’s ministry classes are open and meet during the 9:30AM service. There is nursery for ages 0-2 at the 11AM service during the summer, but no other children’s ministry classes.

If your child has special needs, we are here to serve you and your child! Please see the FAQ below about connecting with our STARS disability ministry so that we are ready to provide the best program and care for your child.

Finally, Kids’ Harbor not only has classes and programs that are offered on Sunday mornings, but throughout the rest of the week as well. Below is a list of different opportunities for your children to be involved in the life of our church through the ministry of Kids’ Harbor along with the weekdays of each:

  • Kids’ Choirs – Sunday evenings during the school year
  • Kids’ Korner – Wednesday mornings during Women’s Bible Study
  • Boys and Girls Clubs (by age) – Wednesday evenings during Men’s and Women’s Bible Study
  • Preschool and Elementary Events – various dates/times throughout the Summer
  • Family Events – typically on Saturdays throughout the year

If you would like to find out more information about any of the Sunday morning, Sunday evening, or midweek programs in Kids’ Harbor, please reach out to our children’s ministry administrative assistant, Megan Stough.

During the school year (late August – late May), the middle school ministry (known as King’s Messengers, or KMs) meets in the lowest level of the Commons, which is the building across the street directly south of the Sanctuary building. Head down two flights of stairs, and the check-in for middle school will be visible once you reach the bottom of the stairs. The middle school ministry does not meet on Sunday mornings during the summer months (early June – mid-August). For more information, visit the KMs webpage.

During the school year (late August – late May), the high school ministry (also known as HYACKS) meets on the far west side of the Crossings, which is the building across the street directly south of the Commons building. When crossing the street from the Commons parking lot to the Crossings building, turn right to walk down the sidewalk going west. The entrance door to the high school ministry space is marked with a sign and is directly across from the Chase ATM drive-thru on Wesley Street. Like the middle school ministry, the high school ministry does not meet on Sunday mornings during the summer months (early June – mid-August). For more information visit the HYACKS webpage.

STARS & Adults

During the school year (the Sunday after Labor Day – May), STARS disability ministry check-in is on the lower level of the Commons building, which is the building across the street directly south of the Sanctuary building. When you enter the Commons, head down the stairs one flight, and the check-in area for STARS will be visible once you turn the corner. You can also utilize the elevator in the Commons lobby area and take it down to L1 for check-in.

Also, if you have a student who wants to participate in the inclusion program in the children’s ministry (known at College Church as Kids’ Harbor), you can bring them to the Kids’ Harbor check-in location (the Harbor Hub) in the Sanctuary building where they can meet their peers. Once you enter the main Sanctuary building, there is also an elevator at the top of the ramp adjacent to the left-hand side of the Sanctuary that can be used to access the Harbor Hub check-in area.

Finally, if possible, we encourage you to contact us prior to your visit, so that we can meet with you in order to serve and support your adult or child to the best of our abilities. A great way to contact us is by emailing our STARS disability ministry director Julie Clemens. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family to our church!

During the school year (late August – late May), we offer a variety of adult classes (or communities), mostly during the 9:30 AM service hour. During the summer (early June – mid-August), adult communities do not meet. Instead, everyone is invited to attend the Summer Forum during the 9:30AM service hour each week on the main floor of the Commons. Information about these opportunities can be found on our Adult Communities webpage.

During the week throughout the school year, there are additional opportunities for adults to gather for Word-centered discipleship and fellowship, including 20’s Ministry, Small Groups, or Men’s and Women’s Ministries. Visit each of the ministry webpages for more information.
